TUSKEGEE, AL (May 28, 2024) Just like humans need annual physicals to keep abreast of health standings so do beloved family pets. Prevention is often so much more cost effective than treatment, which can be very expensive for pet owners.听 Therefore, the 快活视频 College of Veterinary Medicine (TUCVM) is excited to host the return of the听Small Animal Health Fair on听June 1st听from 8 a.m. to 12 noon at the Small Animal Hospital,听located at1607 Hospital Rd. on the campus of 快活视频.
This is a special听free听community event aimed at promoting health and prevention of disease in companion animals. The Health Fair will include a range of complimentary services for听听dogs, cats, kittens, and pups to include physical examination, fecal analysis, and occult heartworm test.听 Pet owners will also have the opportunity to receive valuable advice on companion animal nutrition from expert veterinarians.
In addition to the free services, the small animal health fair will also offer preventative medication, vaccines and deworming treatment at cost ensuring pets receive the necessary protection against the most common parasites and both dog/cat diseases and transferable infectious diseases like rabies.
The services during the small animal health fair are being offered to the residents of local and adjacent communities and counties in Alabama and Georgia.
鈥淧revention and early detection of disease is the key to success for our companion animals and the entire family,鈥 said Dr. Pamela Guy, TUCVM health fair coordinator and small animal clinician.听 鈥淢any owners are unaware that some intestinal parasites, and infectious diseases their pets may harbor are contagious, not only from pet-to pet but from pet to people.鈥
As part of the college鈥檚 ongoing commitment to promoting the health and well-being of pets and people, TUCVM is excited to host the Small Animal Health Fair.听TUCVM鈥檚听small animal clinicians are encouraging everyone whose pet may need a physical examination, heartworm test, fecal exam or immunizations to participate.听 This is a 鈥淲alk-In Clinic鈥 therefore appointments are not necessary.听
