The mission of the Counseling Center is to help students achieve their personal and academic goals, to understand themselves and others, and ultimately to lead more satisfying and healthy lives. We welcome and work with students of all backgrounds by providing individual and group counseling sessions and wellness/prevention outreach to the University community.Ìý
The primary function of the University Counseling Center is to provide individual and group counseling to students who may be experiencing difficulty with personal and social issues, academics, stress management, test anxiety, grief, relationships, sexuality, family concerns.Ìý
The ¿ì»îÊÓƵ Counseling Center is located next to Kresge Center. ÌýServices are offered from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Telephone number: (334) 727-8244. Appointments are encouraged, but not a necessity. For emergencies on CampusÌýdial extension 4911.
Students must come in person to complete the necessary forms and information. All Counseling Sessions are private and confidential.

Individual counseling helps you to clarify your concerns, gain insight into yourself and others, and learn ways to most effectively cope and/or resolve problems. Below are some of the common issues that a college student may address in individual counseling:
Outreach Program Request Forms are available at the Counseling Center. Kindly submit them 2-3 weeks in advance for review, availability and approval.
