Dr. Barney S. Graham is an immunologist, virologist, and clinical trials physician with an extensive background in basic and translational research applied to vaccine development. His work has focused on the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), influenza, coronaviruses, HIV, and other emerging viral diseases. After graduating from Rice University, he obtained his MD from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 1979. Dr. Graham completed residency and two chief residencies in Internal Medicine, a fellowship in Infectious Diseases, and a Ph.D. in Microbiology & Immunology at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, where he rose to the rank of Professor of Medicine with a joint appointment in the Department of Microbiology & Immunology.
In 2000, Dr. Graham became one of the founding investigators for the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) Vaccine Research Center at the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) as Chief of the Viral Pathogenesis Laboratory and Clinical Trials Core and was Deputy Director of the VRC before retiring in 2021. He is the recipient of the Robert M. Chanock Award for lifetime contributions to RSV research, the Dr. Charles M茅rieux Award for Achievement in Vaccinology and Immunology, the Albert B. Sabin Gold Medal Award for contributions to vaccinology, the Albany Medical Center Prize in Medicine and Biomedical Research, and the John J. Carty Award for the Advancement of Science from the National Academy of Sciences. He was named one of the world鈥檚 100 most influential individuals and one of the Heroes of the Year in 2021 by Time magazine and recognized as the Federal Employee of the Year by the Partnership for Public Service.
Dr. Graham is an author of more than 500 scientific publications and a thought leader on emerging viral diseases and pandemic preparedness. He is best known for his research on RSV pathogenesis, structure-based vaccine design, and the application of mRNA delivery technology. He was involved in the advanced evaluation of vaccines and monoclonal antibodies for HIV, Ebola, and Chikungunya, and developed novel vaccines for RSV, influenza, Zika, paramyxoviruses, and coronaviruses including the first COVID-19 vaccine and monoclonal antibody to enter clinical testing and that subsequently achieved Emergency Use Authorization and licensure.

Dr. Eric Coleman is a two-time graduate of 快活视频 earning his B.S. in Biology in 1986 and his DVM in 1991. Dr. Coleman has also earned his Master of Public Administration in 2009 from the University of Colorado. Currently, he is a 2022 White House Leadership Development Program Fellow, in the Department of Agriculture. In his current position, he is a veterinarian, agriculture, and public health professional who collaborates globally to bolster national security, advance foreign policy objectives, and strengthen emergency response preparedness.
Dr. Coleman is an accomplished veterinarian who has built effective partnerships with U.S. government leaders, foreign governments, international organizations, agricultural businesses, and other stakeholders. Dr. Coleman most recently served as the Director of the International Technical and Regulatory Capacity Building Center at the U.S. Department of Agriculture鈥檚 Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service. In this role, he led complex international capacity-building programs that provided technical and regulatory assistance to U.S. and foreign governments to encourage the use of best practices for transboundary disease threats. These best practices included preventing and reducing the likelihood of outbreaks, detecting threats early, and responding rapidly and effectively using multi-sectoral, international coordination and communication.
Dr. Coleman was recognized with the Department of Agriculture鈥檚 Abraham Lincoln Honor Award and Letter of Commendation from the U.S. Trade Representative, and Executive Office of the President for his leadership in resolving major animal health barriers to U.S. meat and poultry exports to South Africa. He also received a Letter of Commendation from the U.S.A. Poultry and Egg Export Council for its commitment to solving major market challenges faced by the U.S. poultry industry in the Middle East due to the avian influenza outbreak in the U.S.

Senior Veterinary Communications Manager at Purina
Dr. Callie Harris is a 2008 graduate of the 快活视频 School (now College) of Veterinary Medicine.听 After graduation, she completed a one-year rotating small animal internship at the Veterinary Specialty Hospital of the Carolinas in Cary, NC.听 During her internship, she developed a love for emergency medicine and critical care and worked as an emergency veterinarian at Cobb and Cherokee Emergency Veterinary Clinics, which are fast-paced, high volume specialty practices in Metro-Atlanta since 2009.
In December of 2016, Dr. Harris joined Nestle Purina PetCare as a full-time veterinarian. In her role as Senior Veterinary Communications Manager, she provides support for veterinary teaching hospitals throughout the Southeast and technical education support for Purina鈥檚 veterinary sales division. She also works closely with Purina Brand and Public Relations by participating in various media platforms to connect with the veterinary and pet-loving communities.
Dr. Harris has a special interest in emergency medicine, ultrasound, and nutrition.听 She loves working with a variety of cases and meeting clients from all walks of life. Dr. Harris currently resides in Atlanta Georgia with her husband, toddler daughter, her hyper Bichon/Poodle mix, and a senior citizen terrier mix. When she is not working, you can find her on the dance floor! Dr. Harris is a former part-time ballroom dance instructor in Buckhead. Most recently, she joined the cast of ABC鈥檚 Pooch Perfect as a co-judge of a creative grooming reality contest to provide veterinary consultation. In her spare time, she loves to travel and read!

JOYA GRIFFIN, DVM, DACVD
Veterinary Dermatologist
听Dr. Joya Griffin is an Ohio native and graduated from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. While attending Cornell, she earned numerous awards, including the Dermatology Service Award for her aptitude in clinical dermatology and her research on Malassezia otitis externa. It was at Cornell that she saw firsthand the amazing transformation a dermatologist could make in the health and quality of life of the patients they treated. After graduation, Dr. Griffin completed an internship at VCA Berwyn and Aurora Animal Hospitals in Chicago where she was awarded the Intern Abstract Award for her presentation on Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus. She then returned to Cornell University for a residency in dermatology and after completing her residency training, she served one year as an instructor of dermatology. Dr. Griffin taught fourth-year clinical students as well as lectured to underclassmen on bacterial, fungal, and immune-mediated skin diseases.
She became a Diplomate of the College of Veterinary Dermatology (ACVD) in August 2010 and joined the Animal Dermatology Group. Dr. Griffin has a special interest in fungal and immune-mediated skin diseases as well as feline and equine dermatology. She enjoys lecturing to fellow veterinarians, mentoring residents, and teaching the veterinary students who externed with her. Dr. Griffin also stars in the Nat Geo WILD television series, 鈥淧op Goes the Vet with Dr. Joya,鈥 which highlights the challenging and mysterious cases she encounters in veterinary dermatology. She is excited to tell her story and show the tremendous impact her practice makes on the community they serve in Kentucky and Indiana.
Dr. Griffin always strives to care for her patients as if they are her own pets and loves building long-lasting relationships with their pet parents. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and pets. Dr. Griffin is happily married to Dr. Forrest Cummings, a veterinary internal medicine specialist, and they have three children - Caden and boy/girl twins, Coby and Carter. They have a new kitten named Donut and two dogs, Guri and Magic. She loves traveling, eating the delicious meals her hubby cooks for her, and working out. Dr. Griffin recently completed her fourth half marathon and is excited for the next.

Dr. Courtney A. Campbell is a graduate of the 快活视频 School (now College) of Veterinary Medicine earning his DVM in 2005.
Dr. Campbell has enjoyed a career as a board-certified veterinary surgeon and a veterinary journalist. 听He specializes in orthopedic, soft tissue, and minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Campbell currently practices at VetSurg, a specialty surgical practice in Ventura, California.听
On the media landscape, Dr. Campbell is a host of two podcasts, author, and daytime television veterinary medical correspondent. He is also a member of four organizations that are committed to creating a more pluralistic veterinary profession including the American Veterinary Medical Association Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (AVMA DEI) Commission, the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) DEI Commission, the DVMC, and Pawsibilities VetMed.
