The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering offers programs of study leading to the B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering, and a B.S. degree in Computer Engineering. Our students also participate in the Ph. D. program in Material Science and Engineering.聽 The programs in the department are led by seven聽(7) faculty members, and we attract outstanding students from the US and abroad. Many of our students are supported through scholarships, fellowships, research assistantships, and teaching assistantships. The Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering聽program聽is聽accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET.聽The Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET,聽聽is responsible for accrediting computer engineering programs.聽The graduate program in Electrical Engineering is accredited through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.聽
The mission of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department is to prepare students to have strong technical, scientific, and professional skills and qualities with emphasis on design and commitment to life-long learning, basic and applied research, and public service.聽 The Department also seeks to support faculty members to develop strong pedagogical and research skills to enhance the transfer of knowledge to students.
