Workshop on Secure Mobile Software Development (SMSD)

The workshop date is on May 4, 2019 (Saturday)


This workshop is intended to promote Secure Mobile Software Development (SMSD) in education, to enhance student learning experience, and to foster collaboration among faculty in SMSD field. Application and registration is free. The application deadline is April 26, 2019 (Friday).听 This workshop is sponsored by National Science Foundation (NSF), NSF Award #1723586/1723578/1723555.

Location

The workshop location will be the Andrew F. Brimmer College of Business and Information Science, Room 102, Brimmer Hall, on the campus of the Tuskegee Univeristy, AL.

How to Apply

Please submit/email the following part as part of the workshop application to Dr. Fan Wu (fwu@tuskegee.edu)

  • One-page statement including your interests in secure mobile software development, research, teaching, and education background, courses taught, planned courses, and how you will incorporate workshop training resources and results to curricula.
  • Optional: Support letter from department chairs or heads indicating institutional commitment to support the incorporation of the workshop materials to their curriculum.听
  • Commitment to participating in discussion and contribute to improve our workshops and the development of secure mobile software development.

Date and Time

Saturday, May 4, 2019. The workshop will start at 8:00am on May 4, and ends at 4:30pm on May 4, 2019.

Travel Stipend

We will cover cost of your travel of $200 (within 100 miles), and $500 (more than 100 miles).

Agenda

This workshop provides an excellent opportunity to develop instructional excellence and to network with peers. Expected outcome of the workshop is to provide concrete case studies, and hands-on lab material, test questions, and evaluation rubrics that can be applied in teaching secure mobile software development related courses. The workshop will also focus on developing effective evaluation instruments that can lead to peer-reviewed publications in CS education conferences/journals.听


The similar workshop will be held at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in the summer of 2020.
