快活视频 has announced the addition of Dr. Jacqueline A. Brooks, a distinguished and seasoned educational leader who joins the School of Education. Since her arrival in the spring of 2023, Dr. Brooks has made significant strides in expanding the school's reach and influence in the educational community.

Dr. Brooks holds a Ph.D. in educational leadership and a master's in educational leadership from Nova Southeastern University. With a diverse background in K-12 education and organizational leadership, she previously served as Superintendent for Macon County Schools. Her other roles have included principal, curriculum specialist, and federal programs director.

Since joining the School of Education, Dr. Brooks forged connections and fostered collaborations between the university and surrounding school districts. Under her guidance, the division has formed partnerships with five additional school districts, solidified through Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs). These agreements signify a commitment from the partnering districts to accept field experiences and interns from 快活视频's School of Education, providing invaluable hands-on learning opportunities for aspiring educators.

"We are delighted to welcome Dr. Brooks as she will join a robust team of faculty and educators in the School of Education," said Dr. S. Keith Hargrove, provost and senior vice president for Academic Affairs. "The demand for teachers in Alabama continues to increase, and the addition of Dr. Brooks will help enhance the curriculum, attract more future teachers, and be engaged in improving the school system in Macon County."

"Her experience and community consciousness will be an asset to the 快活视频 School of Education and play a major role in growing the academic programs," Hargrove continued.

In addition to being the Assessment and Field Placement Coordinator for the School of Education, Dr. Brooks will also teach EDUC 114, Seminar in Education; EDUC 203, Introduction to Professional Education; EDUC 309, Curriculum Principles; and EDUC 443, Secondary Student Teaching, ELA.

Dr. Brooks has played a pivotal role in advancing the School of Education's strategic vision. Her leadership was instrumental in completing the division's strategic plan, laying a roadmap for continued educational growth and excellence. This spring, the School of Education will prepare for its accreditation. Dr. Brooks has already been actively supporting the journey toward accreditation by ensuring the school meets the rigorous standards set forth by accrediting bodies.

"I'm pleased to join the faculty at Tuskegee and contribute to the School of Education; being back on this campus is truly a full-circle experience as the campus is the place of my birth and the compilation of many impactful and personal educational experiences such as Upward Bound, summer bridge, and Dr. James Henderson's Summer Science Academy," said Dr. Brooks.

Dr. Brooks has earned numerous accolades, including SSA Superintendent of the Year, Teacher of the Year, and recognitions from organizations like the NAACP and Omega Psi Phi, Inc. Her extensive involvement extends to state boards, where a former Alabama Governor appointed her, and her presence on various boards, including the Macon County Economic Development Authority and the Redtails Scholarship Foundation. She has contributed significantly to education through grants, authored articles, and played a key role in securing the Apple ConnectED Grant.
