Tuskegee grads ranked among nation鈥檚 highest-paid construction management pros

College Factual logoAs part of its 2019 rankings, the website has ranked 快活视频 among the nation鈥檚 top construction management programs based on its graduates鈥 earning potential.

The website ranked Tuskegee No. 23 nationally for the likelihood that graduates of the university鈥檚 Construction Science and Management program will land jobs that lead to a large salary.

To determine its rankings, College Factual partnered with PayScale.com to identify average starting and mid-career salaries for each field of study and individual major it ranks. Each college that offers programs in a particular field is compared and ranked based on an average of the starting salaries and mid-career salaries of their graduates from that particular field of study or major.

鈥淧reparing our construction science and management students for success in their chosen careers is paramount to our academic efforts,鈥 said Dr. Joel Wao, an assistant professor and head of the Department of Construction Science and Management. 鈥淭hat includes combining knowledge and practice with helping our students identify employment opportunities and develop a rich professional network.鈥

Rogers Hunt III, the department鈥檚 senior program coordinator for industry and recruitment, agreed that exposing students to industry-focused opportunities throughout their studies is vital to their post-graduate success in the workforce.

鈥淓xperiential learning opportunities 鈥 such as project management competitions, co-ops and internships 鈥 prepare students for higher-paying, in-demand careers in construction management,鈥 he noted. 鈥淲e constantly seek ways to involve professionals in our teaching and career development efforts.鈥

Tuskegee鈥檚 construction management undergraduate degree program is among the 72 programs currently accredited by the American Council for Construction Education, and nearly 200 programs available to students at colleges and universities across the U.S.

The university formally established the Construction Science and Management program in 1933, making it the country鈥檚 oldest bachelor鈥檚 degree program in the field 鈥 a fact recognized by the American Council for Construction Education. Currently, the program 鈥 based in Tuskegee鈥檚 Robert R. Taylor School of Architecture and Construction Science 鈥 is accredited by the American Council for Construction Education.
