For the first time in nearly two years, ¿ì»îÊÓƵ is welcoming alums and community members to celebrate the longstanding traditions that uphold the university's mission. This year's theme, "The Golden Tigers Returning to TU in 2022," speaks to the spirit of Homecoming returning to an in-person affair and celebrates the legacy of the Tuskegee excellence.

The week-long series of events set for Oct. 30 – Nov. 6 started with the annual Gospel Explosion on Sunday. Other events will highlight the traditional Mister and Miss ¿ì»îÊÓƵ Coronation, the ¿ì»îÊÓƵ community parade, and the Homecoming football game between the Golden Tigers and the Golden Bears of Miles College.

"We are excited about this year's full-scale in-person homecoming, and we are ready to welcome returning alumni to Tuskegee, said Kymberly Holland, Coordinator of Alumni Affairs and Reunion Programs. "Homecoming is a special time to gather and reflect; it's also a meaningful opportunity to highlight our accomplishments as a university."

This year marks the 98th Homecoming at Mother Tuskegee, and Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba '05, the 53rd mayor of Jackson, Mississippi, will serve as the Grand Marshal and Homecoming speaker for Sunday's Convocation.

¿ì»îÊÓƵ's Homecoming Chairwoman and Interim Vice-President of Student Affairs, Abena Myers-Taylor, says she is excited to have the first in-person homecoming since the pandemic. "There's no better way to explain how we feel here at ¿ì»îÊÓƵ than that of our theme, ‘Golden Tigers Returning to TU in 2022,’ the hard work and dedication of the Homecoming Committee will not go unnoticed as we welcome back our many alums and celebrate this season with our students, faculty, staff, and administration.

The Office of Alumni Affairs will host a reunion brunch for the classes of 1987, 1992, 1997, 2002, 2007, 2012, and 2017 at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday morning on the front lawn of Logan Hall.

Other anticipated homecoming activities include the TASS annual golf tournament on Friday, Nov. 4; followed by the Block Party on the Ave., the Professional Networking Mixer from 3 p.m. to6 p.m.; and the ROTC Hall of Fame Induction at 6 p.m. Alumni can enjoy music by DJ Scream at 7 p.m. in the VIP tent in front of Logan Hall and the All-Black Party at 9 p.m. Friday and student concert featuring Jacquees and Babyface Ray.
